Eventbrite Continues to Bring Tech Sophistication to Premier Concerts and Festivals – Announces New Partnership with Hangout Music Festival and Goes On Sale for the 2nd Year with Governors Ball
Eventbrite manages massive on-sales for Governors Ball and the Hangout Music Festival
San Francisco, Calif. – February 20, 2013 – As Eventbrite continues its focus on being a reliable ticketing solution for concerts and music festivals throughout the world, the company has seamlessly managed on-sales for some of the most well-known shows in the country, including the Governors Ball and Hangout Music Festival.
Eventbrite sold tens of thousands of tickets to the Governors Ball Music Festival in the first few minutes after sales went live. After such a successful on-sale for its inaugural event in 2012, this year’s festival—headlined by Kanye West and Kings of Leon—has once again partnered with Eventbrite, to take over Randall’s Island in New York City.
Eventbrite also ensured that the tens of thousands of people attending the Hangout Music Festival had no trouble purchasing their tickets. Shaul Zislin, the Owner and Founder of Hangout, explains, “Having Eventbrite’s help when planning our ticketing strategy was essential. They worked with us to create the various ticket packages, and the team made sure that our on-sale went smoothly. We knew the fans joining us at Gulf Shores would race to buy tickets as soon as they went live, and we needed to offer them a seamless purchase experience. We want people to be able to focus on the music, art and community that Hangout creates—having Eventbrite manage the ticketing means they won’t have to worry about the logistics.”
In 2012 alone, thousands of festival organizers, promoters, and venues have used Eventbrite to issue tickets to nearly 40,000 concerts and music festivals. Eventbrite is working with a wide variety of promoters and venues—ticketing intimate, 100-person shows, and premier festivals like the Tortuga Music Festival in Fort Lauderdale, and U.M.E. 2013 from Disco Donnie Presents.
This continued focus on the music industry follows the recent publication of Eventbrite’s 2012 growth metrics, including ticket sales totaling $600 million, and 36 million tickets sold worldwide in 2012.
