Eventbrite Continues European Expansion by Bringing Leading Self-Service Ticketing Platform to Germany and the Netherlands

Localized Ticketing Service for Events of All Sizes for German and Dutch Speakers Around the World

San Francisco, Calif. – June 20, 2012 – Eventbrite, a global self-service ticketing platform for events of all sizes, is announcing that a localized offering for German and Dutch speakers is now available at www.eventbrite.de and www.eventbrite.nl, respectively. These launches place the company’s pioneering platform in 10 countries, each with localized and translated offerings, including a translated online help center and email support.

Eventbrite’s simple and powerful event organization, promotion, and ticketing tools have issued nearly 63 million tickets worldwide, to date. Earlier this week, the company celebrated a corporate milestone with its users – $1 billion in cumulative gross ticket sales worldwide. In 2011 alone, events were posted on the platform in over 170 different countries, and the company has reported that nearly 20% of its business comes from outside the United States. This is evidence of the pervasive need for easy-to-use, flexible event management software that can be leveraged by organizers of both large and small events around the world.

“Germany and The Netherlands are cornerstones in our continued European expansion, and these launches underscore our commitment to make creating live experiences easier for customers around the world,” said Kevin Hartz, CEO and co-founder of Eventbrite. “Thousands of events have already been created in both Germany and The Netherlands using the .com service in English. This organic adoption combined with the high Internet and mobile penetration make these promising markets for us, and we hope to bring more comfort to these users with a localized version.”

Founded in 2006 by Kevin and Julia Hartz (CEO and President, respectively) and Renaud Visage (CTO), Eventbrite brings innovation to four primary areas: the self-service ticketing platform, mobile products, data capture and customer support.

  • The web-based software serves the large segment of event organizers who previously had little or no access to inexpensive, flexible tools that make it easy to manage events and collect payments.
  • The company’s mobile offerings include the Entry Manager app (localized), which turns an iOS or Android device into a ticket scanner for event organizers, and is localized in German and Dutch for both iOS and Android platforms.
  • Eventbrite provides organizers with a data dashboard that offers unprecedented visibility into their attendees’ behavior, so that they can make informed marketing and staffing decisions.
  • And lastly Eventbrite stands out from any other registration platform on the market with 24 hour support, 7 days a week (initially, phone support in English-only; email support in German and Dutch).

Beginning today, users in Germany and the Netherlands will be prompted to change language preference upon visiting Eventbrite.com, or can simply go directly to www.eventbrite.de or www.eventbrite.nl. Additionally, last week the company announced at a conference in Portugal, that a localized Portuguese site would be available later this year at www.eventbrite.pt.
