Craigslist Foundation Selects Eventbrite to Help Make 7th Annual Boot Camp a Success

Boot Camp organizers cite ease of use, commitment to nonprofit community among key Eventbrite differentiators

August 11, 2010: San Francisco, CA- Eventbrite, the fastest growing social commerce company, today announced that the Craigslist Foundation has, for the second consecutive year, selected Eventbrite to power Boot Camp, the nonprofit organization’s flagship event which will take place on August 14th at UC Berkeley.

“Eventbrite truly cares about the nonprofit community and has made a huge difference for the Craigslist Foundation and our community building initiatives,” said Paige Buck, director of events for the Craigslist Foundation.

Craigslist Foundation Boot Camp is a one-day, high-energy conference that brings together and showcases a diverse cross section of over 1,000 San Francisco Bay Area individuals and community leaders. Through a series of inspiring panels, interactive workshops, collaborative programs and networking opportunities, Boot Camp cultivates conversation and empowers people to affect a positive impact in their neighborhoods and communities.

Eventbrite powers live experiences for all interests, all over the world, by offering event organizers an easy-to-use, elegant, and simple way to manage, promote and sell out their events.

“After years of producing events and conferences, I’ve used numerous systems over the years and have always had lots of things to gripe about and very few things to love,” said Buck. “Eventbrite is a completely different situation and I am beyond impressed with how intuitive and easy the features are to use, as well as the treasure trove of best practices tips and tricks they provide for events of all sizes, in all industries.”

The Craigslist Foundation particularly likes the flexibility of the platform and the ability to send customized poll questions to attendees in advance of the event so as to tailor the agenda to their interests. Additionally, the data, analytics and reporting tools are simple and customizable, providing their team with direct visibility into a number of critical metrics and enabling them to build reports and track progress over time.

“We are so much more than just a tool or a piece of technology – rather, we are enabling communities and individuals to rally around their passions and interests by connecting with each other through a live experience,” said Kevin Hartz, CEO and Co-Founder of Eventbrite. “The fact that the Craigslist Foundation is working with Eventbrite for a second consecutive year illustrates the commitment of our customers and our ability to meet and exceed the unique needs of each and every event out there.”

The Craigslist Foundation is a member of Eventbrite for Causes, a program developed specifically for nonprofit organizations to take advantage of a full suite of event management and promotion tools, non-profit best practices, and a discounted ticket fee. The program launched in February 2010 and has seen significant uptake over the past 6 months, with over 800 organizations utilizing the program.
