Just as every event on Eventbrite is unique, so are each event organizer’s needs.

This week, we’re excited to launch a new feature created specifically with our registration event organizers and attendees in mind.

You now have the option to switch from our standard ticketing terminology to registration event terminology, for any and all of your events!

For the past few months, we’ve been interviewing many organizers, including endurance race directors and conference organizers, to understand how we can further improve our platform for registration events – events requiring attendees to register, but not purchase a ticket.

This is the first of many new features to come. We know it will go a long way in clarifying to attendees what they are purchasing on Eventbrite, and what they need for admission to your event.

Go from “tickets” to “registrations” with this option in the Event Types & Language button on the “Manage” tab.

For example, when attendees visit your event registration page, they’ll be asked to register for your event and fill in their registration information, as opposed to buy tickets. On their order confirmations, they won’t be asked to print their tickets but will receive their registration summary via email.

Best of all, it’s really easy to implement for your existing and future registration events. After you create your event on Eventbrite, you can select the Registration Event option in the Event Type & Language setting on the Manage tab. The changes will be automatically applied throughout all pages in the event registration and order confirmation process, so you don’t have to worry about customizing it yourself.

You can choose the Registration Event option at any time, even after you’ve started processing event registrations. The setting will also conveniently carry over to any subsequent events you create, but you can just as easily switch back to Ticketed Event terminology (if you’re hosting an event requiring tickets) the same way you switched to the Registration Event setting.

This journey toward creating a better online registration experience has only begun. We’re working on other exciting features that we know will have a big impact in making your events easier to manage, and we look forward to sharing those with you in the coming weeks.
