How are Eventbrite fees changing in the U.S.?

On September 4, 2018 at 1PM EDT we’re updating our pricing for event creators on the eblink{Essentials=>https://www.eventbrite.com/organizer/essentials} and eblink{Professional=>https://www.eventbrite.com/organizer/professional} packages. The custom pricing for event creators on eblink{Premium=>https://www.eventbrite.com/organizer/premium} packages won’t be impacted by this change. Events that are already published and live on September 4, 2018 at 12:59PM EDT won’t be affected by this price change.

Fees for the Essentials package.

Starting September 4, 2018 at 1PM EDT, if you eblink{use the Essentials package=>https://www.eventbrite.com/organizer/essentials/} and publish an event that takes payments in U.S. Dollars, your tickets will have these fees: 1. Eventbrite Service Fee: 2% of the ticket price + $0.79 per paid ticket (no maximum fee) 2. eblink{Eventbrite Payment Processing=>https://www.eventbrite.com/support/articleredirect?anum=3490} (EPP) Fee: 2.5% of the total transaction (no maximum fee) The new pricing above represents a reduction in the Eventbrite Service flat fee (from $0.99 to $0.79) and the EPP fee (from 3% to 2.5%), and an increase in the Eventbrite Service percentage (from 1% to 2%). For the Eventbrite Service Fee, we’re removing the maximum fee of $19.95. If you've opted to use eblink{PayPal=>https://www.eventbrite.com/support/articleredirect?anum=3461} to take payments for your Eventbrite event, you’ll still need to pay both the Eventbrite Service Fee and PayPal’s fees. Eventbrite’s pricing change doesn’t impact the processing fees you’ve negotiated with PayPal.

Fees for the Professional package.

Starting September 4, 2018 at 1PM EDT, if you eblink{use the Professional package=>https://www.eventbrite.com/organizer/professional/} and publish an event that takes payments in U.S. Dollars, your tickets will have these fees: 1. Eventbrite Service Fee: 3.5% of the ticket price + $1.59 per paid ticket (no maximum fee) 2. eblink{Eventbrite Payment Processing=>https://www.eventbrite.com/support/articleredirect?anum=3490}: 2.5% of the total transaction (no maximum fee) The new pricing above represents a reduction in the Eventbrite Service flat fee (from $1.99 to $1.59), and the EPP fee (from 3% to 2.5%), and an increase in the Eventbrite Service percentage (from 2.5% to 3.5%). For the Eventbrite Service Fee, we’re removing the maximum fee of $24.95. If you've opted to use eblink{PayPal=>https://www.eventbrite.com/support/articleredirect?anum=3461} to take payments for your Eventbrite event, you’ll still need to pay both the Eventbrite Service Fee and PayPal’s fees. Eventbrite’s pricing change doesn’t impact the processing fees you’ve negotiated with PayPal.

Fees for the Premium package stay the same.

As a eblink{Premium package=>https://www.eventbrite.com/organizer/premium} event creator, your custom fees are not affected by this pricing change. If you have additional questions about your Premium package, please contact your Customer Success Manager or eblink{reach out to our support team=>https://www.eventbrite.com/support/contact-us}.

No change for live events.

Events that are already eblink{published and live=>https://www.eventbrite.com/support/articles/en_US/Multi_Group_How_To/how-to-create-an-event?#3-4} on September 4, 2018 at 12:59 PM EDT will see no change to their fees through the completion of the event. The updated fees will apply to any newly published events after September 4, 2018 at 1PM EDT.

How to check your event's fees.

View a breakdown of your fees by hovering over the icon next to "Buyer Total" for each ticket type under Step 2: Create Tickets on your Edit page. If you're using PayPal to collect payments, this icon only shows the Eventbrite Service Fee — not PayPal’s payment processing fee.
