Spring of Light

Spring of Light was founded by Miles McKenzie and Kristina Ibarra. We began leading live Musical Meditations and Meditative Chant Gatherings online to bring comfort and connection to our community as COVID-19 and the ensuing shutdowns was forcing us to remain apart.

Our Musical Meditations involve a wide range of instruments from around the world (including many we have made ourselves). We incorporate various types of gongs, Himalayan singing bowls, crystal singing bowls, chimes, bells, wooden flutes, tongue drums, hand drums, piano/keyboards, and the most powerful instrument of all, the human voice.

Our lives are filled with constant sound. We hear the sounds of cars, heaters, air conditioners, machines, and electronic devices everywhere. Most of the time, we block out these sounds. Many people have trouble meditating and disconnecting from the racing thoughts of daily life. Musical Meditation can make the process much easier. As you listen to the calming sounds around you, we encourage you to focus on your breath and just listen. Listen to the sounds, listen to your body, and let your mind go. You might be surprised where it takes you.
