The Cool

Scribes & Vibes™ was created to produce a beautiful blend of poetry, music, and art and to generate a notable Starbucks Experience at Starbucks Conyers.

We rejuvenated the world's number one coffeehouse, every 2nd Saturday, from March 14, 2009 until March 10, 2012.

The Rebirth of Cool

By popular demand, Scribes and Vibes™ was revived to reinforce the library as a community locale and to generate a signature library experience at Stonecrest Library.

We advocated for DeKalb County Public Library's most progressive programming branch, every 2nd Saturday, from November 8, 2014 until January 14, 2017. 2nd Saturdays at Stonecrest Library included the Authors Hour™ [a Read Local initiative that highlights a mixture of book signing, author reading, book talk, author meet up, and book drive] and Scribes and Vibes™ [a Local Arts platform that showcases a fusion of art opening, open mic, poetry reading, music showcase, and book drive].

The Cool Revisited

Encouraged by Teresa D. Totten's “think of the library beyond the books” philosophy and creative direction; Scribes & Vibes™ crafted Rhythm & Rhymes™ to remix the cool and to encourage the Conyers-Rockdale Library System community to “LIBRARY OUT LOUD!”

To celebrate the cultural heritage of jazz and poetry and to highlight the rhyme and reason of Scribes & Vibes™ during Jazz Appreciation Month and National Poetry Month, Rhythm & Rhymes™ was launched at Nancy Guinn Memorial Library; on April 16, 2016.

To reinforce the cultural importance of jazz and poetry beyond the month of April, @scribesandvibes curated and sponsored Rhythm and Rhymes™ at Wesley Chapel - William C. Brown Library. Rhythm and Rhymes™ at the Wesley Chapel branch was held on the following dates:

1:30 p.m. - 3:30 p.m. on February 11, 2017 during DeKalb County Public Library's Love Your Library Month Campaign

1:30 p.m. - 3:30 p.m. on May 13, 2017 during DeKalb County Public Library's Older Americans Month Campaign

1:30 p.m. - 3:30 p.m. on July 15, 2017 during Rhythm and Rhymes™ National Ice Cream Month Celebration

To champion the importance of jazz and poetry in areas of early childhood development; Scribes and Vibes™ crafted Rhythm and Rhymes Storytime™ to advocate music and movement experiences and the educational benefits of nursery rhymes.

To further the advancement and development of jazz and poetry during Jazz Appreciation Month and National Poetry Month, Rhythm & Rhymes Storytime™ was launched at Wesley Chapel - William C. Brown Library; on the following dates:

10:00 a.m. - 10:30 a.m. on Tuesday, April 4, 2017
