Mike Elm | Rolling with the Punctures
Hello, I'm Mike. It’s short for Micycle. I have also been known as Mike Elm, Elm, Elmers, UnderwhElming, Dutch, Elmo and Mini Guinea (though not for years – it’s the cheeks).
I am a teller of jokes, crafter of puns, swimmer of cold places, pinger of pongs, and yes, micycler of micycles.
I occasionally go on big adventures with big purposes *Cough* New Story Ride *Cough*.
However, I also go on adventures for the sheer joy of it…and this is what you’ll mostly find on here.
Rolling with the Punctures
Rolling with the punctures started a long time ago. The first time I went to Italy with the vague idea maybe I’d do some cycling. Without a bike.
This ended up with meeting Sylvia “The Silver Liner”, a beautiful silver city cruiser (bike) from Milan. We had a magical two weeks together, with my rucksack haphazardly attached to her pannier rack. And only one incident of near cyanide poisoning.
It’s been all downhill from there. Whoever came up with that phrase as a negative clearly never rode a bike.
Enjoy the ramblings and I’ll see you out on the trail!
