Lisa Carroll

Hi! I am a London-Irish playwright, screenwriter and comedian. My workshops are aimed at scriptwriters of all abilities looking to develop their craft and gain more industry knowledge.

With over five years experience teaching playwriting workshops, for organisations including the Royal Shakespeare Company, Soho Theatre, CityAcademy and the Mono Box, my workshops are friendly, inspiring and fun.

I have been a playwright for many years, with work staged at the Soho Theatre, The Arcola Theatre, the Abbey Theatre Dublin and beyond. I've worked with theatres from the National Theatre in London to Fishamble Theatre Company in Dublin. I was one of twelve writers selected for the prestigious Channel 4 Screenwriters Course in 2021. This is all to say that my workshops come from the perspective of a writer who has been through all the ups and downs of getting projects off the ground, from initial idea to full professional runs. I've spent years studying my craft and want to teach you everything I wish I'd known when I was starting out.

In February 2023 my book: MAKING YOUR SOLO SHOW, co-authored with Milly Thomas, was published by Nick Hern Books.

My mission is to help people get past impostor syndrome and truly express themselves on the page. You'll leave my workshops feeling inspired and informed.
