Landmarks of DeKalb County
Landmarks of DeKalb County, Inc. was organized on August 4, 1969 as a private, non-profit 501c3 corporation. Landmarks was created for the purpose of sharing and preserving the history of the people & places in DeKalb County, Alabama, through publications, interpretive exhibits & archives, and conservation of historic properties such as the Fort Payne Opera, the old Cabin Fort Site, Wills Town Mission Cemetery, Fort Payne Hosiery Museum & Richard C. Hunt Reception Hall, and the Council Bluff School.
