Storehouse 408
STORY
Every great love story begins somewhere — and for Matt and Amy Jakubaitis, theirs led to the creation of Storehouse 408.
When they were planning their own wedding, they dreamed of a space that felt authentic — something warm and personal, yet effortlessly stylish. At the time, most wedding venues were banquet halls and hotel ballrooms, and finding a place that reflected their personalities just wasn’t easy. They imagined a venue where couples could truly make the space their own — where celebrations felt genuine, beautiful, and unforgettable.
That dream never left them.
For nearly eight years, they searched for the perfect building — one with a story to tell and potential to be transformed into something extraordinary. It needed to be accessible, have both indoor and outdoor gathering spaces, onsite parking, and of course, that elusive sense of character.
Their search ended when they stumbled upon an old Beer Store in Cambridge — a building said to be the oldest still-standing Beer Store in Ontario until 2017. It wasn’t glamorous, but it had good bones and a spark of possibility.
With 4,000 square feet of open space, a big backyard ready to be reborn, and a location just five minutes from Highway 401, Matt and Amy knew they had found it — the blank canvas they’d been dreaming of.
In 2017, they purchased the building, rolled up their sleeves, and began a full transformation. Over two years, the once-forgotten structure became a bright, open, and inviting space filled with natural light, warmth, and heart. And on May 9th, 2019 — their own wedding anniversary — they hosted the very first event at Storehouse 408.
Since that day, the space has welcomed countless couples and families, each adding their own chapter to its story.
