Why Choice Matters: Protecting Communication Rights in a Digital Europe
In today’s increasingly digital world, millions of Europeans risk being left behind when communication channels are restricted to digital-only formats. For older people, rural communities, and marginalised groups, the right to choose how to receive essential information, whether on paper or digitally, is fundamental.
This event, hosted at the European Parliament, will highlight why safeguarding communication choice is critical to inclusion, consumer rights, and democratic participation. Together with policymakers, civil society, and industry experts, we will explore how to build a Europe that respects all citizens’ needs and ensures nobody is excluded from vital information.
Building on the findings of the Why Choice Matters 2025 report, this event will feature citizen testimonies, policy insights, and expert discussion on how to ensure communication rights remain protected in the years ahead.
Note: Participation will only be confirmed upon receipt of a confirmation email, as spots are limited.
