LALN - Towards Scaling Learning Analytics: Using Instruments for Identifying Challenges and Key Actions for Institutional Adoption

About this event

Title: Towards Scaling Learning Analytics: Using Instruments for Identifying Challenges and Key Actions for Institutional Adoption

Summary: Since the field of Learning Analytics (LA) emerged in the early 2010s, LA developed into an established field of research and practice. The growing interest in LA is mainly due to its great potential for producing novel real-time information for all education stakeholders, including students, teaching staff, and managers. However, applications in the real-world context remain small in scale due to various challenges, such as stakeholder engagement, ethics and privacy issues, and availability of technological infrastructure. In this workshop, we invite researchers, practitioners and policy makers to discuss about what are the main challenges for the adoption of LA initiatives at institutional level. Through a set of instruments and templates derived from the European Erasmus + Project LALA, this workshop will promote interactive discussions about the current state of LA in different Higher Education institutions, taking into consideration existing initiatives, its organizational maturity, and the stakeholders who were engaged throughout its development and deployment. The inputs from the participants will be turned into key actions to be taken to address the challenges for expanding LA adoption.
