Do i have to be an experienced storyteller?

Accepted Answer

No not at all.  This gathering in a gentle opportunity to share stories that resonate with you.  You don't have to be perfect, you just have to be willing to step into this vulnerable space.  For many this will be the first time they have ever shared stories like this in public.

How big will the group be?

Accepted Answer

We limit the group to 8 people max.  This keeps the group intimate, and offers enough time and care to each individual that comes.

Question 3

What should my story be about?

Accepted Answer

Thats really your choice.  Spend a bit of time feeling into this.  Ideas:  'that' realisation; a coming out tale; the first person you told about your
queerness; that first job application when you had to tick that box.…now they know! There are many 'first times' in our life, just pick one ....

Question 4

What if i cant find a story?

Accepted Answer

Perhaps bring an item instead that tells a tale, that has importance in your life. A poem that got you through the day.  A photo that takes you back to a first time. These are just ideas.

Question 5

How long do I have to talk for?

Accepted Answer

Each person gets a window of about 15 minutes for engagement with their story. This time does not have to be filled totally with your story.  Engagement with the other participants in discussion, enquiry, other sharing will naturally unfold.  We allow things to evolve with love and care

Question 6

Should i prepare somethig beforehand

Accepted Answer

Yes, it will be best to have given some thought to what you might like to share/ talk about.  Just be curious and  remember its not got to be perfect.

Question 7

Is it normal to feel nervous?

Accepted Answer

For some people yes indeed.  Many participants have reported they felt nervous beforehand but these nerves lessened as the evening progressed.

Where will this take place

Accepted Answer

In a comfortable home and ceremony space  in Amsterdam.  In the warmer months we may try to host these outside under a nice tree!

Who can come to these events?

Accepted Answer

These events are offered to the LGBT+/queer community.  Some events are offered as men only gatherings and others are offered to the whole community.  Check dates and options.
