Policy is the thread that stitches together vision and reality. Yet all too often, policy is designed in a vacuum — abstract, rigid, and disconnected from the lives of the people it aims to serve. “...

Dear all,

You are cordially invited to the eighth Thesis Conference and Graduation Celebration from the Engineering and Policy Analysis (EPA) program: “Grand Challenge Accepted 2025.”

We are pleased to host this event at the Wijnhaven Building, part of TU Delft's campus in The Hague. Throughout the day, you will have the opportunity to connect with the EPA community, attend a keynote speech, listen to presentations by EPA students, and participate in an alumni panel discussion. Or play something you never knew you have been missing it: the EPA Bingo. The day will conclude with a sunny beach party at Scheveningen, with food included.

The final stage of the TU Delft Engineering & Policy Analysis Master’s program is a half-year thesis research project. At this 8th EPA Thesis Conference, EPA students will present the results of their individual research projects to external relations, alumni, potential commissioners, employers, current and future EPA students, family, and friends.

This year’s keynote presentation, titled Living Policy, will be delivered by Marit Maij, member of the European Parliament. During this keynote presentation, we will explore how embedding lived experience, participatory approaches, and social equity into policymaking can help close the gap between intention and impact. We will examine how inclusive governance, local knowledge, and intersectional thinking can help dismantle structural barriers, amplify marginalized voices, and create policies that truly reflect the societies they serve.

Registration for the conference is free of charge. However, there is a EUR 25.00 fee for the chillout at the beach, as it includes dinner and a few drinks.

The schedule is as follows:

09:30-10:00 hrs - Walk in at Wijnhaven & Coffee

10:00-11:00 hrs - Welcome and keynote

11:00-11:30 hrs - Coffee break

11:30-12:30 hrs - EPA thesis talks

12:30-13:45 hrs - Free Lunch

13:45-14:45 hrs - EPA Bingo

15:00-15:45 hrs - Interactive alumni-panel

15:45-16:15 hrs - Coffee break

16.15-17:15 hrs - Launch of EPA graduates, closing ceremony

18:00-Late - Beach Party at Beach Club WOW (25 EUR including dinner)
