About this event
Every Wednesday night from 6:00 to 7:30 pm, a rotating panel of experts from a variety of Bay Area companies convene in a virtual meeting to help YOU with your job search. We are a nonprofit organization sponsored by the San Francisco Chamber of Commerce, and we are here to help you move forward in your job search with confidence and clarity.
Looking for a job can be confusing, hard, and stressful. We know sometimes you just have questions and want real advice. Join us every Wednesday for a free, interactive virtual session where a small group of job hunters get actionable advice from people who care. If you sign up, please keep your commitment, as we are keeping ours to you: Come to the meeting, be present and stay until the end.
Our volunteers will spend the time to understand your struggles and help you plan the next steps in your job search. Because our volunteers work for local Bay Area companies, our job search advice reflects current hiring practices and is especially relevant and actionable. You can ask questions about the challenges of your situation and get candid, practical answers.
Each Wednesday, we have a rotating panel of three professionals in various fields. Though the specific industry of the panelist may not be your own, there is plenty of valuable information that can be taken from each meeting to help you make your own job search more effective.
Each attendee gets a turn. While you are waiting for your turn, you get to hear the advice and practical suggestions given to other attendees and apply them to your own situation. As an open forum to all participants, you can also make suggestions to other participants.
When your turn comes, let the panel know what specifically you are struggling with, i.e., What specific information you need to get to the next level/phase of your job search. This may be about how to network, how to deal with a panel interview, how to prepare for an interview, and questions about LinkedIn.
The panel may ask questions to get further clarity about your situation. They will share ideas, feedback, and resources that can help you focus your job search efforts and prioritize your next steps. This should bring you closer to getting the job you seek.
