Event description
Sparkbox presents a free, online conference covering accessibility, design, UX, and development topics for digital studios and teams.

About this Event

Sparkbox is dedicated to building a better web. We’ve always prioritized learning and sharing, and we love getting out to meet new people, learn from industry peers, and share what we’re passionate about.

This year, for good reason, we’ll be sticking close to home. But we’d still like a chance to support the industry and elevate important conversations. We’re glad to announce the Sparkbox UnConference.

Join us for a day of inspiration and learning, live from our home offices.

We’re building the day around four cornerstone presentations, which represent concepts that are pivotal to our work and probably yours:

Understanding Accessibility: WCAG’s 13 Guidelines

Accessibility is critical, but it can be confusing. Kasey Bonafacio will demystify the 13 WCAG guidelines and show examples of each guideline in action, empowering you to improve accessibility in your projects.

Putting the “User” in UX

To create digital products that truly serve the user, we have to verify assumptions about what those users want. Julie Young serves up easy ways to incorporate first-person user research.

Foundations of Sustainable Software

Creating effective software requires planning, insight, architecture, and cross-discipline collaboration. Ryan Cromwell will demonstrate strategies for maintaining a shared vision for software solutions, as well as techniques to guide its evolution in a safe, sustainable manner.

Selling Design Systems

We all know the value of a Design System, but if you can’t sell the concept to your internal team, you’ll never get it off the ground. Ben Callahan will help you respond to key pain points and highlight opportunities that will get your executive team on board.
