Event description
"Hawaii: Living on the Edge in Paradise?" A PaceDocs Premiere Presentation

About this Event

Join us for the New York City premiere screening of the PaceDocs documentary film Hawaii: Living on the Edge in Paradise? Immediately following the screening, there will be a Q&A session with the production crew.

During the summer of 2018, hundreds of earthquakes shook the summit of Kīlauea, sparking the volcano’s largest eruption in 200 years. To some it was a disaster. To others, it was the goddess Pele’s way of creating new 'āina (land). Students in Pace University’s award-winning Media, Communications, and Visual Arts travel documentary production course (PaceDocs), led by Maria Luskay, EdD, spent six days living in its shadow and gathering stories of faith, resilience, and unification. What they learned from the people of Hawaii is a lesson in the true spirit of Aloha.

Film total running time: 35 minutes.
