The Oklahoma Learning Community for Person Centered Practices is pleased to offer our first Oklahoma Gathering for Person Centered Practices. The theme is Sexuality: Important TO and Important FOR EVERYONE! Join us for interesting discussion and practice considering relationships and sexuality, as we support people in planning and achieving lives with meaning and lives they love.
This year's Gathering will be held in lovely Tulsa, Oklahoma. Tulsa is home to the Woody Guthrie Museum, Tulsa Arts District, Blue Dome District, Gathering Place, Guthrie Green and much, much more.
Our keynote and plenary speaker is Richelle Frabotta. Richelle is the coordinator of the Dennis L. Carlson Sexuality Education Studies Center at Miami University, as well as an Instructor in the Family Science and Social Work Department. She is completing her doctoral program in Leadership, Culture and Curriculum. Her quarter century experiences in community-based sexuality education informs her research. Her scholarship challenges contemporary sex ed curriculum and teaching preparation practices. She is an active member for AASECT (American Association of Sexuality Educators, Counselors and Therapists) serving on Ethics Committees, Board of Directors and conference planning. Raised in a traditional Catholic home and strongly influenced by education professionals who value the power of progressive teaching pedagogy, Richelle has a profound respect for diversity, believes in prevention education and engages people to make healthy choices for sexual pleasure, health and wellness.
Our venue is Aloft Tulsa Downtown, a beautiful renovation of our former Tulsa City Hall. A block of rooms has been reserved for $89/night.
