Mourning Marks

This group is intended for community members who reside in Middle TN, and family members of Alive Hospice patients regardless of location.

Mourning Marks is a virtual expressive arts grief group where participants are invited to journey together through weekly mandala-making and poetry explorations. Each session will center on a different theme of grief and loss, offering gentle guidance and creative prompts to help shape personal expression. Through color, form, and words, the art itself becomes a container — a vessel that can safely hold sorrow, memory, and love. No art experience is needed — only an open heart and a willingness to trust the process. In this shared space, participants will discover how creativity can both honor grief and open pathways toward healing.

Thanks to the generosity of our donors, this group is provided free of charge. A suggested donation of $5 per session is appreciated. Groups are held using the Zoom meeting platform. Participants will be asked to have their video and audio on during the group which will allow you to interact with facilitators and attendees. Unlike traditional webinars, we’re keeping our groups small and intimate in an effort to create community and combat the isolation that typically accompanies grief.

Event registration closes 24 hours before group. Registered attendees will receive the Zoom meeting link via email the day of the event.
