Make Your Own Cheese Board!

Overview
Join us for a hands-on, beginner-friendly woodworking class where you’ll transform rough lumber into a beautifully crafted cheese board!
This is a two-session class that takes places on the following dates:
- Friday, December 12th at 5pm
- Saturday, December 13th at 10am
Over two days, you’ll learn foundational woodworking skills, gain confidence with essential tools, and leave with a finished piece you can proudly use or gift.
Day 1: Milling & Cutting
You’ll start with rough hardwood and learn how to bring it into true, workable form.
Participants will:
- Mill lumber flat using jointers and planers
- Cut their pieces to size
- Glue up the boards in a classic cutting-board style pattern
By the end of Day 1, your board will be clamped and curing overnight.
Day 2: Shaping & Finishing
With your glued panel ready, you’ll move on to shaping and refining your cheese board.
Students will:
- Plane the board flat
- Use a bandsaw to cut out a rough cheese-board shape
- Clean up the edges with a router and template
- Sand the board smooth
- Apply a food-safe finish for a beautiful, durable final product
