Late Lacan and after: A Seminar Series with Bracha Ettinger
Event Information
About this Event
Join us for a special seminar on the later Lacan and the thought of psychoanalyst and artist Bracha Ettinger. In our first meeting, Bracha Ettinger will offer a presentation on the ways she has utilized the topological and conceptual tools developed in Lacan’s later work including the sphere, klein bottle, torus and cross-cap. From these interventions, Bracha will present a re-consideration of the Freudian notion of eros, or life drive.
Registration confirms your participation in two sessions:
Session one: Sunday March 14th 11 am – 1:00 pm EST – Lecture and Q and A with Bracha Ettinger
Session two: Sunday March 21st 11 am – 1:00 pm EST – Response papers and forum on Ettinger’s thought
The second session will entail a series of short response papers, a debrief and discussion of Brach Ettinger’s lecture and wider thought.
