Inkscape is a free software drawing tool that can be used to create and modify SVG (Scaled Vector Graphics). The SVG files can then be used to create items with the Cricut Maker or Laser Cutter. The software is available for PC, Mac, and Linux. In this introductory class, attendees will install and learn how to use the software to create and edit images that can be imported in to the Circut Design Space software. To take full advantage of the class, attendees need to bring their personal computer to the class as this will be hands on learning.

4. Importing images and using the trace function
5. Fine tuning images using node editing tool
Instructor: David Leong
Instructor bio: Since a young age, David has been crafting items in a variety of materials and techniques. David joined the Port City Maker Space in the summer of 2024 and can be seen in all of the different shops. David has been creating SVG files using CorelDRAW for more than 30 years, but due to the high cost, has switched to Inkscape to create SVG files for use with the Cricut and Laser Cutter.
This class needs a minimum of 2 attendees to run
A computer is required – PC or Mac, no Chromebooks
Open to 12 years old and up (under 18 must be accompanied by a parent/guardian)
