Will things of a sexually nature be on display?

Indy Author Event features a wide range of genres—including many types of romance—from sweet and wholesome to steamy and taboo. It's very likely that some table displays, swag, book covers, and banners will include sexual content or imagery. We do not censor our attending authors.

Are children allowed at this event?

We advise that children under 18 not attend due to suggestive book covers, banners, and swag. However, attendance is ultimately at the discretion of the parents.

Will there be food or drink available?

There are several water stations spread throughout our ballrooms. Food will not be available, and attendees are advised to bring snacks should the need them.

Is the venue ADA compliant?

Yes, our event space is ADA compliant. We’ve ensured that there is adequate space for guests who require mobility assistance. The aisle ways between rows of tables are approximately 5 to 6 feet wide at a minimum, allowing for easy navigation with wheelchairs, walkers, or other mobility devices.

Can we bring in books from home to be signed?

Yes, you are welcome to bring books from home to be signed. However, we recommend checking with the attending author in advance, as some may have a limit on the number of books they will sign per person.

What time can readers enter the event?

The event runs from 12:00 PM to 4:00 PM. VIP ticket holders may enter at 12:00 PM for their bonus hour of signing time. General Admission ticket holders may enter beginning at 1:00 PM.

Founded in 2017 as Indies in Indy by Avelyn Paige. In 2024, we established 317 Author Events INC, a nonprofit focused on promoting reading and giving back through fundraising.
