Description
IndieWebCamp is a weekend gathering of web creators building & sharing their own websites to advance the independent web. We spend a day discussing, and a day hacking & creating to empower ourselves and others to own our own identities and data.
This is the first IndieWebCamp in Austin. We're happy to welcome IndieWeb co-founders Tantek Çelik and Aaron Parecki to Austin for the event!
IndieWebCamp is a 2-day event:
- December 9th (Saturday): 9am - 5pm
- December 10th (Sunday): 9am - 5pm
Day 1 starts with introductions, demos, and IndieWeb building blocks, then BarCamp-style brainstorming and discussion sessions:
- 09:00 Doors open, badges, coffee, and breakfast!
- 09:30 Introductions and demos
- 10:30 Building blocks
- 11:30 Session scheduling
- 12:00 Group photo & lunch
- 13:00 45-minute sessions
- 16:45 Wrap up sessions
- 17:00 EFF Austin holiday party!
Day 2 make things on and for your personal site! Collaborate with others or work on your own to improve at least one thing on your personal site, no matter how small or how epic:

IndieWebCamp is for independent web creators of all kinds, from graphic artists, to designers, UX engineers, coders, hackers, to share ideas, actively work on creating for their own personal websites, and build upon each others creations.
If you're new to the IndieWeb, check out the web site and join in the discussion with other members on IRC or Slack.
Special thanks to our sponsors for the event! DreamHost, Polycot Associates, SuperBorrowNet, and Micro.blog.
