Event description

Description

Rutgers New Jersey Medical School Clinical Research Center & The Newark Museum presents:

In Conversation: Infinite Possibilities

Are you of the Transgender experience? From the Greater Newark community? Open to great conversation & resources?

Then we invite you to In Conversation: Infinite Possibilities, as we counter the narrative of the trans experience from one of discrimination, transphobia, and tragedy to perseverance, creativity, and triumph.

Be in conversation with community activists, educators and health professionals at a time when affirming trans identities and trans bodies has never been more crucial.

Talks given throughout the event will be:

Tyra Ebony Gardner and Khloyei Galloway, Community Health Workers and Trans Activists, concerning their gender discovery

Keynote address by Newark's own Supermodel and Trans Activist, Tracey Africa Norman.

Trans Resource and Affirming Health Panel including Dr. Jonathan Keith of the Rutgers Center for Transgender Health, Dr. Michelle Dalla Piazza of the Rutgers Infectious Disease Practice and Aminah Washington of the African American Office of Gay Concerns

The program will also offer resources on name legalization, GED education courses, gender-affirming surgery, hormone therapy, and more!

**lite bites provided by Eclectic Catering

The stories we tell are powerful and can either be a source of shame and fear or a light of beauty and liberation.
