Join me for an afternoon of glamorous glazing! In this 2 hour session, we will
cover glaze basics such as what glazes are made of, how they melt in the kiln,
how to be safe with glazing, and how to be a “good glaze citizen” in the pottery
studio. We will focus on the drippy, layered look of these specialized glaze
patterns while exploring different color combinations and ways of applying glaze
to result in dynamic and fluid patterns. The instructor will handle the firing and
your finished beautiful pot will be ready in around 7-10 days! You will have a
beautiful hand-made keepsake for life.
Participants should bring their own apron if desired and come
prepared to get dirty.
** Participants should bring 1-3 bisque fired vessels ready for Glazing. These can be flat trays or upright pots. Flat trays or very shallow bowls are ideal as they showcase the vaguely geometric patterns in this glaze technique. If you don’t have a suitable bisque-fired pot, contact the instructor and she can help you. **
