Are you interested in UI/UX design but not sure where to begin? Join us for a hands-on, beginner-oriented workshop that will introduce you to the fundamentals of prototyping using Figma, one of the most widely used (and free) design tools in the industry.

Dates: September 9th – 11thTime: 11:00 AM – 3:00 PMLocation: Place Beyond Bytes (Franz-Haniel-Platz 1, 47119 Duisburg)Who Can Join: Open to all UDE students and academic staff – no prior design or Figma experience needed!

Over the course of three engaging days, you’ll learn how to use Figma from scratch, understand the core principles of prototyping, and gain practical experience. Whether you're a total beginner or just curious about what prototyping means, you’ll walk away with new skills, a foundational understanding of UI/UX design, creative confidence, and a Certificate of Participation to show off your work.

Workshop Schedule:

Day 1: Figuring out FigmaAn introduction to Figma’s interface, tools, and core design concepts.

Day 2: An Introduction to PrototypingLearn the basics of prototyping, from design theory to practical implementation.

Day 3: From Low to High-FidelityExplore the full spectrum of prototyping and how to turn your wireframes into clickable mockups.

What You’ll Need:

  • A laptop
  • Access to Figma (via a free account or desktop app)
  • Basic computer skills
  • A curious mind and creative spirit
