Im Rahmen der Schmiede Hallein und anlässlich 100 Jahre Stadtkino Hallein präsentiert das Künstlerkollektiv d#avantgarde das AI-Filmfestival FOCUS.
Teil 1: Filmscreening (19:15 – 20:15)
Eine kuratierte Auswahl von Filmen, die mithilfe generativer KI produziert wurden, zeigen die Dynamik und den Wandel einer Technologie, die wahrscheinlich das Kino und die Filmproduktion revolutioniert.
Die Werke werfen zentrale Fragen auf: Was geschieht, wenn wir nicht mehr erkennen, ob Bilder echt oder künstlich sind? Welche Bedeutung behält Authentizität? Und vor allem: Wie verändert sich die Filmproduktion durch KI, von der Idee bis zur Realisierung, und damit unser Verständnis von Film und Realität?
Teil 2: Podiumsdiskussion (20:30 – 21:30)
Gemeinsam mit Expert:innen diskutieren wir Chancen und Grenzen generativer KI im Kino. Im Zentrum steht die Frage, wie diese Technologie die Produktion selbst beeinflusst und welche Arbeitsschritte Maschinen übernehmen können, welche Verantwortung bei Menschen bleiben muss und was im künstlerischen Erzählen unverzichtbar menschlich bleibt.

As part of Schmiede Hallein and the 100 Years of Stadtkino Hallein anniversary, the artist collective d#avantgarde presents the AI film festival FOCUS.
Part 1: Film Screening (19:15 – 20:15)
A curated selection of films produced with generative AI showcases the dynamics and transformation of a technology that is likely to revolutionize cinema and film production.
These works raise pressing questions: What happens when we can no longer tell whether images are real or artificial? What role does authenticity play? And most importantly: how will AI transform the production of films, from concept to realization, and ultimately reshape our understanding of cinema and reality?
Part 2: Panel Discussion (20:30 – 21:30)
Together with experts we will examine the opportunities and limits of generative AI in cinema. At the heart of the discussion lies the impact on film production itself: which processes can machines take over, which responsibilities must remain human, and what must stay uniquely human in the art of storytelling and filmmaking.
