Disney·Pixar's "Coco" 3D Screening and Q&A
Date and time
Description
As part of After School Special: The 2018 School of Visual Arts Alumni Film & Animation Festival, we are pleased to present a special 3D screening of the Academy Award-winning Disney·Pixar hit, Coco (2017). Following the film, we'll be joined by three SVA alumni for a special Q&A -- Pixar animators/artists Gini Santos (Pixar's first female animation supervisor), Christina Faraj, and MontaQue Ruffin. The film will be preceded by an animated short from the Heroes of Color series, by SVA alumnus David Heredia. And catch a special Coco virtual reality experience in the lobby before and after the film, created in part by SVA alumnus JD Gardner. The Q&A will be moderated by current student Melyssa Proctor (MFA 2020 Computer Arts).
Synopsis: Aspiring musician Miguel, confronted with his family's ancestral ban on music, enters the Land of the Dead to find his great-great-grandfather, a legendary singer.
Coco is rated PG, and some material may be inappropriate for children under the age of 7. Children under the age of 3 may not be admitted.
.... And come early to enjoy augmented and virtual reality and music video experiences in the lobby.
