It seems that we live in an age of uncertainty, perhaps more uncertain than other

times. But a quick scan of history would suggest that the uncertainty of life has persisted throughout the ages. Yet, our sense of self, our very identity, requires some measure of certainty.

The enduring aphorism passed down from ancient times still rings true today: Know Thyself.

In order to truly know oneself, we must look deep within to encounter the timeless, the unchangeable, the essential. Since everything in this world is subject to change, that essential part of us must lie beyond its reach, in that “other” world some refer to as “spiritual”. It is here that we will find certainty. And it is precisely in the nexus between the ever-changing and the certain that we will find ourselves.
