Event description

Description

The Community Engagement Design and Research (CEDaR) center and the Colorado chapter of the Congress for the New Urbanism (CNU) are co-hosting “Community Building Colorado-Style: Making Creative, Smart and Engaged Places.” The event connects leadership from neighborhoods, small towns and cities with University of Colorado, Boulder’s cutting-edge research from environmental design and sciences.

The conference will explore perspectives on community-building across Colorado. Panels and discussions will focus on

  • Innovative place-making

  • Entrepreneurial ecosystems

  • Launching catalyst projects

  • Affordable housing

  • Design of green infrastructures and food systems

  • Engagement with children and youth

  • Colorado creative districts

Be sure to sign up for the "Creative District Track Workshop" held on Sunday, October 22nd.

The Creative District Track Workshop will provide opportunities to strengthen existing partnerships and forge new ones, with others focused on building creative communities. This track will offer insight from recent research on evaluation, to help attendees better understand and communicate the impacts of the creative economy.

To better understand how Colorado’s creative districts are revitalizing local, regional and state economies, checkout CU Boulder's Office for Outreach and Engagement.

Accommodations can be booked here at a conference rate.
