Building Creative Community (Thriving as a Creative Workshop Series)

By Clear Creek Makerspace

Overview

Build authentic relationships and community through a group sharing of our craft.

Whether you’re returning to creativity after a break, building your art practice, or simply seeking new perspectives, this small-group coaching series offers tools and conversations that help you thrive, both in your craft and your daily life. Each session includes guided exercises and time for connection with other makers.

Come to one or join the full series. The series is designed for participants to build on knowledge and community progressively through the five weeks.

Part 1: Discover Your Creative Identity (Nov 13 6-7:30 PM)

Discover how your sense of self shapes your voice, confidence, and creative expression.

Part 2: Expand Your Creative View (Nov 1 6-7:30 PM)

Understand how you see the world and unlock new possibilities in your art and life.

Part 3: Building Creative Community (this event)

Build authentic relationships and community through requests, offers, and mutual support.

Part 4: Navigate Your Emotional Landscape (Dec 11 6-7:30 PM)

Explore how emotions and moods influence and channel your creative flow.

Part 5: Chart Your Creative Path (Dec 18 6-7:30 PM)

Reflect on your learning, celebrate, and define what’s next for you.

Art can feel solitary, but creativity can grow in conversation. We will practice giving and receiving kind and constructive feedback that supports your creative growth. Each participant will make a request and we will make thoughtful offers of support. Examples of requests can include feedback on a piece of artwork, reflections on your website, or getting input on an idea. Together, we’ll experience how collaborative dialogue can spark new insights, strengthen confidence, and build a creative community.

Objectives:

  • Learn a framework for making effective requests and offers
  • Practice making requests for feedback or support
  • Practice making offers of support to others

You’ll Leave with:

  • A request or offer you can use right away (for feedback, collaboration, or help)
  • Confidence and new language in how to ask for and give support
  • Tools to strengthen relationships and networks
