Preparation Level 1: The Apprentice
Enter the world of Belladonna’s Bohemian Blade training.

A pioneer of modern sword dancing, Belladonna has been influencing the world of sword dancing with her unique and precise approach for over 20 years.
The Bohemian Blade training is the first of its kind. Infuse your practice and performance with power, purpose and precision. Move beyond dancing with a sword as a prop, as Belladonna shares her approach, philosophy, technique and movement vocabulary to help you build proficiency with your weapon.
Swords are bad ass dance partners and Belladonna will help you construct and cultivate your skills in order to help you feel more empowered in your body and more connected to your blade.
A fun and comprehensive program designed to help each dancer nourish their warrior within.
The Level 1 weekend includes the history of swords and sword dancing, warm ups and conditioning for focus, strength and flexibility, the philosophy behind Boho Blade and Belladonna’s approach, exercises to help sharpen your skills, signature Boho Blade movement vocabulary, and supporting details on how to put together a strong sword performance, what to do when things go wrong, tips, tricks, transportation, care and cleaning.
Dancers will leave feeling stronger, braver, grounded, centered and inspired. What better way to spend a weekend but to play with swords!

Friday, 6:30-8:30pm Welcome & Swords and Belly Dance presentation
Saturday, 10:00am-4:00pm Training.
Saturday, 5:30pm-7:00pm Sea of Swords Hafla. Performance opportunities are available to all who participate.
Sunday, 10:30am-4:00pm Training.
Sunday, 4:30pm Entrance exams begin. Sign-up information will be emailed the week of the training.
Option to test into the Boho Blade program and become an official Apprentice!
**Passing the enterance exam provides you entry into the Boho Blade program. You will receive an official Level 1 Certificate, an invitation to the private Apprentice Facebook group, access to the Apprentice Sharpen the swordd workshops, the ability to order the long awaited Level 1 manual, alumni discount to repeate level 1 to polish your skills, an invitation to the annual Boho Blade Ball events and the ability to progress to Level 2.
Belladonna is a fusion dance artist and innovator from Washington DC. She is the founder and director of Bohemian Bellydance and the Boho Blade sword dancing format and certification program. Belladonna is also a fire performer, yoga instructor and producer of the Raven's Night Soirée. Belladonna is driven by her desire to make creative expression easily available to those who may find it hard to tap into on their own, due to work, family, busy schedules and responsibilities. Her focus is on creating classes, educational programs, music and training that are safe, meaningful, well researched and fun. She uses her dance education and training, as well as her hunger for knowledge and experience in art, design, and energy healing, to help make her programs authentic and one of a kind. The goal of Bohemian Belly Dance is to inspire and cultivate the seeds of enlightenment, healing and self-expression, and self-awareness that can grow from the practice of fusion belly dance. Bohemian Belly Dance aims to provide high-quality instruction and create spaces and opportunities for dancers to find, develop and express their personal truth and creative voice.
