Mark Daftari was born in Thousand Oaks, California, and then moved to Los Angeles where he began expanding his knowledge of dance as a member of the inaugural class of the USC Glorya Kaufman School of Dance. During his time working towards his Bachelor’s degree, Mark received a wide variety of dance training including Martha Graham and William Forsythe techniques and training under industry experts, giving him the tools to successfully work in today’s increasingly diverse dance landscape. Right after graduating, his first industry-based job was with choreographer Parris Goebel for Sam Smith’s music video “How Do You Sleep?”. Shortly after being exposed to the industry, Mark continuously books job after job; working with choreographers such as Sean Bankhead and Ryan Heffington; dancing for Kesha, Demi Lovato, Disney, Idina Menzel, Banks, Todrick Hall, Paula Abdul, and many more artists. Now, Mark is stepping into the teaching and choreography realm as well, currently teaching at some of the most renowned studios in the world, and teaching worldwide across the globe.
