MYTHIC MIRROR
Introdução
Discover the power of self-portraiture in this transformative one-day workshop that explores the many "selves" that live within you—through the lens of universal archetypes and the intuitive practice of collage. Guided by professional visual artists Rebecca Fontaine-Wolf and Nina Fraser, you'll explore your identity through culturally defining influences including mythology, psychology, and pop culture, looking at figures like the Hero, the Rebel, the Healer, or the Trickster who may influence how you see yourself, and how you show up in the world.
- What roles or "characters" do you play in your life?
- Which archetypes (e.g., the Hero, the Rebel, the Healer) do you resonate with—or reject?
- How can you consciously embody these energies to empower yourself?
Collage is a powerful holistic tool that utilises images to literally cut through to the subconscious. It can help you find a way to bridge the gap between where you are and where you want to be.
Using collage as a creative tool, you’ll deconstruct and reassemble your self-image, combining printed portraits, found images, textures, and symbols that speak to your inner characters. Using printouts of your own image alongside found photos, textures, and symbols, you’ll create collage that reimagines your identity through the lens of the archetypes. Collage allows you to experiment with abstraction and symbolism, breaking apart fixed ideas of self and reassembling them with intention. This process is both reflective and empowering—a way to reconnect with your inner mythic landscape and express it visually.
Ideal for anyone seeking creative self-discovery, whether you're an experienced artist or completely new to the process.
