The Student Brain Under Pressure: Stress and Anxiety workshop

Join us at MYP Bulding, in the music room, in this new talk with Sofia Nylander, Nutritional Therapist and H-FARM parent. The presentation explores how the brain and gut communicate, why exam stress and constant pressure take a physical toll, and how hormones, gut health and sleep interact to shape behaviour and emotional balance. Sofia will also touch upon ADHD and anxiety, why some students are more sensitive to stress and how the gut–brain connection and nutrient depletion play a key role in restoring stability. The session highlights the effects of caffeine, energy drinks and artificial sweeteners on the developing brain, and how small, realistic changes can make a difference. Parents will leave with a clearer understanding of how nutrition, biology and daily habits influence attention and stress tolerance, along with practical ways to help students through demanding school years.
