“The System is a literary hat trick: a gripping thriller; a steamy love story; and a compelling depiction of how power is really exercised in America.” Ryan Grim - Drop Site News, author of The Squad

Barry Eisler is an all-time Kepler’s staff favorite and has written numerous critically acclaimed thrillers. We're delighted that he's joining us on publication day of his new title The System. Eisler’s novels are notable for the way they deal with timeless themes in timely settings. They are also unusually realistic. Eisler sets his stories in cities he’s traveled to and lived in, like Hong Kong, Paris, and Tokyo; writes fight sequences deploying his experience in boxing, wrestling, and judo (Eisler has a background in all three); and describes surveillance, counter surveillance, and other tradecraft based on his own CIA training. And the books are unusual too in that they include extensive endnotes regarding the truth behind everything he depicts.

Join us for an hour with Barry Eisler and The System which Dark Matter and Recursion author, Blake Crouch, is describing as a "devastating depiction of power in contemporary America."
