Assemblymember Corey A. Jackson, DSW, MSW, was elected to the California State Assembly in November 2022 to represent the 60th Assembly District and was reelected for a second term in November 2024. In 2023, he served as chair of the Human Services Committee and currently chairs Budget Subcommittee No. 2 on Human Services. He is the first openly gay black man in the history of the California Legislature, and the first black person to represent Riverside County

Otis R. Taylor Jr. is KQED’s Managing Editor of News and Enterprise. In 2020, he was named Journalist of the Year by the Northern California chapter of the Society of Professional Journalists.
