Frequently asked questions

How many tickets can I purchase?

All graduates have 2 free guest tickets. Additional ticket purchases are first-come, first-served and non-refundable.

Will the event be indoors/outdoors?

The ceremony will take place outdoors on the patio, which is partially shaded by trees. Following the ceremony, non-alcoholic beverages and light refreshments will be available indoors.

Where do I park?

Public parking near Alumni House can be found at the following lots: Recreation Sports Facility (RSF) Garage, Telegraph Channing Garage, and street parking is free on Sunday

Are there public transportation options nearby?

Yes, Downtown Berkeley BART station

When and where should graduates check in?

Graduates should plan to check in 45 minutes to one hour before the ceremony begins. A brief rehearsal will take place beforehand. An online event will also be hosted in advance, giving graduates the opportunity to see the ceremony space and ask any questions.

Is there a suggested attire for guests

Berkeley weather can be unpredictable—often sunny, but occasionally overcast and breezy. At this time, we anticipate sunshine on the day of the ceremony, but we recommend guests come prepared with light jackets or layers for comfort.

What safety protocols are in place?

We will adhere to all current health and safety protocols, including COVID-19 guidelines set by the county and state. Your well-being is our priority, and we will keep you informed of any updates as the event approaches.
