Hayfield

While Hayfield itself is mostly residential, there is no shortage of events and things to do in the surrounding Alexandria area. The local scene follows a classic suburban rhythm, with community gatherings centered around parks and recreation centers during the week. On weekends, the energy shifts to the historic streets of Old Town Alexandria, where dining, live music, and waterfront strolls are the main draw.

• Head into Old Town Alexandria for a walkable evening of live jazz at 219 Restaurant, pub tunes at Murphy's Grand Irish Pub, or rooftop drinks at Alexandria Bier Garden.
• Discover local and legendary sounds at an intimate show at The Birchmere, a renowned music hall just a short drive from Hayfield.
• Spend a weekend morning browsing local goods at the year-round Old Town Farmers' Market or the monthly Del Ray Vintage & Flea Market.
