DC-based creative agency building culture via movement, music & communityJoie Yvonne, a Washington, D.C.-bred soulful singer and dancer blends dance and music through her rhythmically-driven, yet groovy style inspired by her unique upbringing in the arts. Her passion for music and dance began in church, where she was mentored by her father and aunt in the choir and dance ministry. She received her classical dance training at the Jones-Haywood Dance School under Sandra Fortune-Green, performing works by Hinton Battle, Sonia Dawkins, Brandye Lee, Paula Brown, Louis Johnson, among others.
