Credit Realities: What’s Not Being Discussed But Should Be- 12noon Session
Since 2010, I’ve found deep fulfillment in walking alongside clients on their financial journeys especially those navigating systemic barriers and personal adversity. My entry into this field began through a transformative community workshop at Head Start, which led me to a six-week women’s financial support group at Innovative Changes. That experience sparked a passion for financial empowerment, leading me to volunteer, train, and eventually build a career rooted in trauma-informed coaching, credit education, and systemic advocacy.Though much of my work has been behind the scenes, I bring lived experience, professional insight, and formal education. My credentials include completed and in-progress certifications from AFCPE (Financial Counselor Candidate, 2025), along with training in lending compliance, financial social work, credit-building, economic abuse prevention, and national coaching programs. I’ve collaborated with organizations such as Mt. Hood Head Start, Innovative Solutions, Innovative Changes, Mercy Corps NW, and Parkrose Middle School (IRCO), and have been recognized by national coalitions and policy organizations for my contributions to financial integration and advocacy.I remain committed to building inclusive financial systems and equipping individuals with the tools to advocate for themselves with clarity and confidence
