SA BEST's (oosting ngineering, cience, and echnology) GEAR competition is a contest held annually to inspire and interest students in the fields of science and engineering. With guidance from adult mentors, local teams of students design and build a robot to accomplish  specific tasks. 

Each GEAR team must provide its own Lego Mindstorms® Kit.  The competition is free and a lot of fun!  Teams have 5 weeks (including Spring Break) to come up with an autonomous robot to play the GEAR game in a head-to-head competition against other teams.  Details about the game are keptsecret until kick-off.
