Mara's Homemade
Mara's Homemade was born at Java N Jazz at Union Square in NYC where all the food products were made on premise. From there, the Cajun, BBQ, Seafood restaurant was born in the East Village, NYC. When that location was outgrown, Mara's Homemade moved to Long Island, opening in Syosset. For 20 years the restaurant served unique twists on traditional American Southern cuisine.
Today, though the restaurant is closed, Mara still loves to cook and teach the cuisine she loves and created. Cooking classes are now being offered to share her recipes and keep the flavorful cuisine alive. Additionally, many of her products, including new creations are available in stores and online.
If there is a particular favorite dish you love, let Mara know and a class can probably be created so you can enjoy it at your convenience.
