Erika Jarvis

Erika Jarvis was born in Chicago, Illinois and grew up in Rogers Park.  She began her formal dance training with Deidre Dawson, at Roger C. Sullivan High School.  As Erika’s mentor and “second mom”, Ms. Dawson opened opportunities for her to audition and receive a scholarship from Joseph Holmes Chicago Dance Theater.  After graduating from Sullivan High School, she attended Columbia College Chicago with a focus on Dance Education.   Her training with Krenly Guzman, Dardi McGinley, and Shirley Mordine inspired her to continue her studies and contribute to the dance community.  Ms. Jarvis has performed and choreographed for companies, television, and artists.  The list includes:  Cirque De Soleil, Dave Scott, Red Eye Newspaper, Barcardi Silver, Kraft Foods, Latin Street Dancing, Boogie McClarin, Dance Chicago, Miss Black Illinois Pageant, L.I.F.E., Mr. A.L.I., Quentin De Alexander, Jenny Jones Show, Miller Genuine Draft, City of Chicago, and several youth organizations throughout the Midwest.  Jarvis has also been recognized for her event planning for private organizations and political figures.
