Colleen Ashby
I am a heart transplant recipient (2017) with a strong personal commitment to improving outcomes for people living with heart and lung disease. This experience has shaped my passion for supporting the Heart and Lung Institute of WA through fundraising, advocacy, and community-led events that raise both awareness and vital research funding.
I am also actively involved with WATCAC (Western Australia Tandem Cycling Advisory Council), an organisation dedicated to making cycling accessible for people who are vision impaired. Through tandem cycling, WATCAC provides opportunities for people with vision impairment to experience the physical, social, and mental health benefits of cycling in a safe, inclusive, and supportive environment.
By hosting events that bring together purpose, community, and movement, I aim to create meaningful experiences that empower people, build strong connections, and support life-changing medical research and inclusive participation.
