Overview

Learn how to bring your Zentangle tiles to life with depth, contrast, and visual flow using the official Zentangle® shading method.

This 2-hour live Zoom workshop is designed for beginners who’ve completed an introductory class and are ready to explore the art of shading. You’ll learn how to use simple tools like a graphite pencil and tortillion to make your drawings pop off the page — one shadow at a time.

In addition to the live session, you'll receive a bonus recorded video with additional techniques for those who want to keep growing. The pace is beginner-friendly, with step-by-step guidance and time to practice.

Prerequisite

This class is for beginners who have completed an Intro to Mindful Drawing using the Zentangle 8-Step Method or equivalent. Familiarity with a few basic tangles is recommended.

A supply list with links will be emailed to you, but here’s a quick look:

  • (2) 3.5" Zentangle® tiles, sketchbook or art paper
  • Sakura Micron 01 and PN black pens (or any fine liners)
  • Graphite pencil (2B recommended, 4B optional)
  • Tortillion or blending stump
