Hello from Nancy Domnauer, Certified Zentangle® Teacher!

Discovering Zentangle has been an amazing experience for me and I think it will be for you too.

In July 2013, I took an introduction class and was immediately hooked. Between the simplicity of the art form, its philosophy and the relaxation that I experienced, I knew I found something special.

Since I’m a teacher I knew I could share Zentangle with others. Within a few days I was teaching my friends and family and within a few weeks I taught my first class!

In April 2015, I traveled to Providence, Rhode Island to attend the Certified Zentangle Teacher seminar (CZT18). I'm grateful to be a Zentangle teacher as I'm able to share this art form with adults, teens, and children.

I teach Introduction to Zentangle classes and an array of Beyond Basic Zentangle classes to participants in my local, in-person classes as well as to students in my online classes. Please visit my website for information: www.linedotcalm.com

In November 2013, I formed the Morgan Hill Tangle Club in my hometown of California. We have been meeting monthly year-round since that time. Meetings are free and open to local Zentangle artists. In the spring of 2015, I organized a team of 45 Zentangle artists for a public art installation in downtown Morgan Hill, California. In the summer of 2019, I helped organize an art show at a local studio for 21 Zentangle artists from our Morgan Hill Tangle Club. Our Tangle Club was invited to display our artwork at the Morgan Hill Community and Cultural Center in the autumn of 2019. These were all special events for local Zentangle artists.

I approach Zentangle as a practice. This means that I like to tangle almost every day and I use the philosophy in my life. I read books and magazines, visit websites, follow blogs, experiment with my drawings and discuss the Zentangle art form with fellow tanglers and CZT colleagues. This routine helps me continue to develop and grow as a teacher and an artist.

I especially enjoy tinkering in my art studio where I tangle and make Zentangle inspired art. I love sharing my discoveries with people in my classes and with tanglers in our Tangle Club meetings.

Please remember, Zentangle is for comfort and enjoyment not comparison and competition. Our lives and our personal art journeys are meant to be enjoyed and are not a competition. Please notice how tree roots and the natural world work in cooperation not competition. Cooperation is how we grow.

I look forward to meeting you and practicing Zentangle together.

With gratitude and appreciation, Nancy
