Jūbako Cooking Class
Class begins at 2PM. In celebration of a Japanese New Years tradition Chef Matsuzaki will be showcasing how to make your own Jūbako, or extravagant bento box. Fashioned to feed a large group, you will leave the class ready to host your own New Years feast.

Japanese Whisky Class
Class begins at 2PM on Feb 20th. Lead Barkeep Matt Allred and special guest will explore the history and the rise of Japanese whisky. Come to taste, learn, and create cocktails using one of the most popular spirits.

Sake Class with Monica Samuels
Class begins at 2PM on April 16th. Zentan is pairing with Monica Samuels for an afternoon of sake. Samuels is currently the National Sake Sales Manager for Vine Connections, overseeing a large portfolio of sakes curated by John Gauntner - the world's leading non-Japanese sake Educator. Monica has over 10 years of experience in the sake industry, including both Certified and Advanced Sake Professional distinctions from Gauntner's Sake Education Council. Among many other awards, Monica's years in the hospitality business and ingrained passion for the restaurant industry have given her an exceptional understanding of pairing sake with food. She will be sharing these food pairing techniques with Chef Matsuzaki's menu, along with an overview of the history and brewing processes for sake.

Event Details

Grow your culinary and beverage skills with Chef Matsuzaki and Lead Barkeep Matt Allred. Every third Saturday of each month they will bestow their tools and techniques to you for an afternoon of hands on learning. Tie on a customized Zentan apron, grab a chef's knife or a bar spoon, and let your creative self go to work. Class includes a Zentan apron, class takeaways, bites from Chef Matsuzaki, or Sake tastings from Allred.
